    Figure A

Since I was little, I have always been fascinated by Theme Parks and roller coasters, and, strangely enough, my interest in them developed out of a desire to overcome a fear. After riding a roller coaster for the first time, I sobbed my head off and threw an absolute temper tantrum over how scared I was (Figure A). A couple of years later, my family and I went to Disneyworld for the first time, and I decided I would conquer my fear. Over the course of my life, I've learned as much as I could about how everything works and the process that
goes into designing rides as immersive and mind boggling as the ones at Disney Parks and Universal Studios. Since then, it has been a lifelong passion and dream of mine to design a ride of my own. All I needed was to develop the skills.

This same ethos is the reason I chose this project for my CE. While I could have chosen a project that played to my strengths, like building an interactive sound playground, I found that I had bigger fears to
overcome and I wanted to challenge myself to face them head on. If not now, when? When I began this program, I was terrified of 3D software and modeling, but for years, some of the visual work I most strongly identified with stylistically had been made in 3D softwares, so I decided I would step completely out of my comfort zone, and design completely in 3D.
